Volkswagen Tiguan -Next SUV From Volkswagen India

Volkswagen Tiguan is German automaker, Volkswagen's compact crossover SUV for India which is expected to be launched by end 2009.Volkswagen Tiguan is based on Audi A5 platformIt is expected that Volkswagen India is going to launch Tiguan in coming months to compete with the likes of Honda CR-V, Ford Endeavour & Hyundai Santa Fe which will be launched soon.

Volkswagen Tiguan contains VW's proven 2.0-liter turbo inline-four cylinder engine which generates maximum power of 200 Bhp and 207 lb-ft of torque and transmission used is either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.Front-wheel drive will be standard with an all-wheel drive system available.

Safety features of the SUV include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, front side airbags, rear side airbags, and curtain side airbags. The new Tiguan benefits from an extremely rigid body structure to afford as much protection as possible for the passenger safety cell.

Other available features includeStandard climate control system , a navigation system with rearview camera, a fold-flat front passenger seat, a sunroof, and a 30-gigabyte hard drive to store data and digital audio files.
