The Lamborghini LP550-2 Valentino Balboni is powered by a 5.2-liter 550 horsepower V10 engine. The front-wheel drive that normally completes the all-wheel drive systems found on the Gallardo has been removed in favor of a rear-wheel drive-only system.
This Lamborghini, limited to a 250-unit production run, will run from zero-to-62 mph in 3.9 seconds, with a top speed of 199 mph.In order to re-tune the car following the switch from AWD to RWD, Lamborghini tweaked or replaced the springs, dampers, stabilizers, tires and aerodynamics of the vehicle. To handle the increase in power to the rear wheels, Lamborghini also developed a stronger 45 percent limited-slip axle, in addition to a new tune for the e-gear transmission.
One major change was to the ESP system - the new CORSA system allow for greater drift angles, thus enabling drivers to further push the LP-550-2.Though the LP550-2 Balboni doesn't take Lamborghini in a new styling direction, it does make a bold statement with either bright yellow or bright green paintjobs - both with a white stripe running the length of the car.
