The Vitara first hit the road in Japan in 1988 as a 3-door part-time 4-wheel drive. In its second avatar, the Vitara came armed with a stylish design, superior engineering and a new namw, the Grand Vitara. The 3rd generation Vitara, redesigned and re-engineered, excited millions across the world, bagging several awards. It became an instant success in India as it found favour with luxury seekers as well as adventure lovers.

The Maruti Grand Vitara 2009 is the 5th generation Vitara with a powerful 2.4 VVT engine producing 163.5 bhp, and an all time 4X4 wheel drive. The Grand Vitara breed of Suzuki has sold over 2.5 million units worldwide winning over 32 reputed awards across countries.

The underlying Variable Valve Timing (VVT) alters the opening and closing of the engine's valves automatically to produce high levels of efficiency, providing 163.5 BHP of power and 225 Nm torque, making it amongst the most powerful SUVs in the market.
